Default Unanswered: What does closed mean??

Ok so I have been occasionally looking at some random threads in many different sections here at WI. But I have not been able to figure out why some threads are "Closed" Is this something the thread maker chooses to do, or something the administrators choose?

Any answers pertaining to this topic would be appreciated!

Well actually it could mean both! For example, if a question was answered for the thread starter, then that person can ask the mods/admin to close the thread. OR if the mods/admin deems a thread to be closed for certain reasons then they will just close it. Hope that helps!

Also, just a little note on what lollie said, sometimes threads close if no one posts on it for two weeks. Hope this helps!

Thank you! That does help!

So now I have another question.... I made a thread a while ago, and then wasn't able to comment on it because of my busy schedule. If I wanted to use the same information I used to start it, could I make it a new thread? (I would do this by copying and pasting the info into a new thread)

First of all, does this make sense, and second of all, is it allowed?
Thanks again!

Well, when a thread says it is closed, it means that the person needs to make a new one.

As long as it was closed because noone was posting on it and not because of something wrong in it then I don't see why you would not be allowed to start a new one with the same info. I believe it is allowed.

Some people edit the titles of their thread and say there clodes so no one comes to them. But sometimes, threads get locked by Moderators and Adminastrators. Hope this helps you bunches!
