sorry if i misunderstood you or vice versa. I do clean my files every night and shut it down over night . I was just showing the message that i keep getting. thank you for all your support and ways to try to work on things i appreciate it. hope to talk to you again soon.
The problem has been much worse today. Twice IE has just shut itself down while running webkinz insider. Once when I was trying to login. A second time when I was voting in a poll (about 5:40 pm PT).
About three other times I have gotten the fatal error box from IE. I did send the info to Microsoft. Then I used the task manager to cancel iexplore.exe.
Thank you for all the suggestions on other browsers. Unfortunately, that will not work for me. This is not my computer.
FIA said she would notify Justin yesterday. I hope he is able to fix this.
I have had the same problem on my desktop computer, and also on my DD's laptop, and just as with you, it always happens when we have WI open (I usually have both WI and WW open at the same time, so it is harder for me to tell which is the problem). The only difference is that I have not seen the ad "double click" messages, but I have had problems in the past with ads on WI slowing or even crashing IE. I have IE7, and like you, frequently clear my cache and perform general maintainence, and it has made no difference. I have not tried other browsers, but have no problem visiting other websites. The only other thing I have noticed is that occasionally I get an error message on WW that says there is a problem with Adobe Flashplayer, and if I don't abort the script it could slow down my computer, but that does not seem to be connected to my IE troubles. I'm going to look for the ad messages next time it happens, and see if they are there for me too. (Justin, if you could possibly help, it would be awesome! )
same here. it seems if i have ww and wi open then this is happening, and it is getting worse for me. so much so that i have to limit my time on wi............. i think also what i am going to do is take wi off of my homepage tabs............. and i will have to manually type it in each time. it will be a pain but that way i will be able to tell if it is really wi or ww. if it crashes with ww, then it is ww, if it doesnt do it anymore then in my mind it is wi........................... and justin, please try hard to help this problem....... it would be most apprecisated. and like i said, it only started happening in the last week. and i have done nothing different. one thing i have noticed the last month or so, is on my tab it is showing the doubleclick ad and i never have clicked on that. it keeps showing weird pages in my tab i never clicked on here........... if that helps any.
Yes, it would be great if someone could look into this...but I am not convinced it had anything to do with the ads...I have all ads turned off on my user cp, so I don't see any ads, and it's still happening to me. (Unless of course the ads are still there, but I just can't see them...)!
mumsey,i havent flagged my posts and i didnt know if i shoudl or not, in the past they seemed rather hush-hush about things like this . but fia did say s/he would notify justin. i dont know if that happened.
As many others have said, try a different browser. Internet Explorer has many, many flaws and I'm guessing most of the things you're trying to do have a lot of data. There are several different browsers you can choose, and they are free to download. The ones I know of are Safari (Safari is made for Mac, but I've found it works fine on a PC), Firefox (I would recommend this one for you), Opera, and the one I just found out about from this thread Google Chrome.
I personally just switched over to a Mac, so I use Safari mainly. I have also downloaded Firefox and Opera, and Internet Explorer isn't even an option. I have not done much with Opera, but when I'm at home and not at school I find myself using Firefox more than usual do to the connection. Even in my PC days I avoided Internet Explorer like the plague. I've heard so many bad things about it, and as far as I know it crashes more than any other browser.
Do you have more than one browser open? because I have found latley that if you have Fire fox (FF) open and then try to open IE8 (not sure if its just IE8 or any IE) that IE will not respond Closing FF seams to fix the issue, but when using just one or the other they seam to work fine its just together that IE has problems.
So if you are useing two browsers I would recomend uesing just one I prefer FF but IE works fine as well.
