Default Re: What is the best browser to use for webkinz?

I used to use Chrome or FF, but the floating dock items annoyed me horribly, plus hamsters wouldn't run correctly. Now I use IE, but you have to un-update back to IE8 before it works. Here is elymic's guide on un-updating IE9 (Windows Vista/7):

1. Click the Start button, type "Programs and Features" in the search box, and then click "View installed updates" in the left pane.

2. Under "Uninstall an update", scroll down to the Microsoft Windows section.

3. Right-click "Windows Internet Explorer 9", click Uninstall, and then, when prompted, click Yes.

4. Click one of the following:

Restart now (to finish the process of uninstalling Internet Explorer 9, and restore the previous version of Internet Explorer).
Restart later (to wait until you shut down or restart your computer).
Note:
After you uninstall Internet Explorer 9, the previously installed version of Internet Explorer will be available on your computer. It is not necessary to reinstall.

Default Re: What is the best browser to use for webkinz?

Safari: I can't make Apple Safari work at all. It will not let me even type in my account and password.

Chrome: This is my absolute favorite for playing Webkinz EXCEPT (huge exception) for the items that always float out of my dock and onto my playing area. I never have problems with ads blocking my way, it is fast, it is the best browser as far as I am concerned. But I only use it when I know I won't be moving things out of my dock (dressing, storing, selling).

IE: WAY too slow for me to use in Webkinz World.

Firefox: This is the browser I use every day for Webkinz World. It is a good browser, but I have trouble with ad sizes blocking my playing and viewing area, the Prizes You've Won window doesn't display, and the Adventure Park plays slower for me too. No idea why.

If the items would stay in the dock, I would be 100% sold on Chrome. As it is, I tolerate Firefox.

I can not seem to download Safari, I like Chrome but the issue with the items floating out of the dock annoys me. IE works ok but seems to be to slow for me. I use Firefox and do not seem to have issues with it. I think is all as to do with what one as on their system, sometimes I may have a software issue.

I must agree...."Google Chrome" for me too!!! The "floating dock" is surely annoying but other than that it's great!

Several people mentioned problems with Safari. The latest version seems to be incompatible with WW, so you need to install an older version, and ignore all those prompts to update your browser. I find that it runs really fast, and doesn't have the floating dock problem, but I do get a lot of crashes, unfortunately. I particularly like it for Mazin Hamsters, and anything else that you want to run quickly and smoothly.

Hi Anotherkinzdad...to fix the ads in Firefox from blocking your play area press CTRL and the Plus sign at the same time. Just once. And it will be fixed forever! Good luck!

gOOd lUck to you in finding the best fit for your WW experience!
I seem to find opera has been working the best lately, but it still does randomly shut down once in a while

There are many threads in this section about this.
For safari - if you have newest windows it seems you actually need the older level of safari (4.0.5).
And you should be sure your flashplayer is up to date.

To top that off, yes, ww has its own problems and random hangs are a part of life for many.

Good luck finding what's best for you!

I think you are right, there is no real perfect answer, computers are designed to drive people bananas hehehe.

I have been useing opera and it seems to be the best I can get for this computer.

have a nice day
