Default Answered: What is the best browser to use for webkinz?

Does anyone know what browser is best for webkinz?

I have tried internet explorer, firefox and also opera and they all seem to randomly shut down when I play webkinz

Is there any solution to this problem?

Has anyone else had similar problems?

I used to use Chrome or FF, but the floating dock items annoyed me horribly, plus hamsters wouldn't run correctly. Now I use IE, but you have to un-update back to IE8 before it works. Here is elymic's guide on un-updating IE9 (Windows Vista/7):

1. Click the Start button, type "Programs and Features" in the search box, and then click "View installed updates" in the left pane.

2. Under "Uninstall an update", scroll down to the Microsoft Windows section.

3. Right-click "Windows Internet Explorer 9", click Uninstall, and then, when prompted, click Yes.

4. Click one of the following:

Restart now (to finish the process of uninstalling Internet Explorer 9, and restore the previous version of Internet Explorer).
Restart later (to wait until you shut down or restart your computer).
Note:
After you uninstall Internet Explorer 9, the previously installed version of Internet Explorer will be available on your computer. It is not necessary to reinstall.

There is no one answer to that question - it varies for different computers/setups & even for what you are doing. Some use combos of ie, Firefox, chrome, safari. Some can only get one to work.
There are many threads in this section about this.
For safari - if you have newest windows it seems you actually need the older level of safari (4.0.5).
And you should be sure your flashplayer is up to date.

To top that off, yes, ww has its own problems and random hangs are a part of life for many.

Good luck finding what's best for you!

Ganz recommends using IE or Firefox. The are a number of problems that they can not resolve in the other browsers. for example, in chrome right now your items float up out of your dock. The only problem with firefox is that for some people the ads overlap on the playing area of the screen, but if you click the control button and the plus sign at the same time, just once, it fixes that for good. Have Fun!

I think regardless of browser, we all have random freezes or logouts. I have a new computer from July, newest flash and FireFox and I think I got "please wait..." frozen about 4 times yesterday.

It's no fun.

I will add I used to be able to use FF for ww, multiple windows even, but cannot anymore.
So we split with 3 in ie and 3 in safari when we want all open.
I use ff for WI.
And I do have a computer background.

Personally, I switch between Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. None is perfect for everything, but each is better at some things than the others. So if something isn't working so great on one browser, go to another. I know it is a bit of a pain, but that seems to be the best way to work it.

I usually use FF and I think I have the latest of it and the flash player. I do have a fast computer and very seldom does flash crash on me anymore. But when I am looking for the parent ads I find that IE works better. I won't use chrome unless nothing else works and safari won't let me put anything in the login screen so I got rid of it.

Which Browser is best you ask?
Whichever one can get you in to WW and keep you playing.

I prefer FF, however, when WW seems glitchy - I switch to Google Chrome.

gOOd lUck to you in finding the best fit for your WW experience!

I usually use Chrome, but like mentioned above, the floating items can get annoying. (And it's caused me to error out when feeding my pets at times, or playing Jumbleberry Fields.) I find it's the fastest browser for me, though, so it's useful when I'm playing games. I also use Chrome for webkinz newz or parent's area contests.

When I'm designing rooms, I tend to use FF. It takes a little longer to load rooms I find, but the fact that I can drag as many pieces of furniture from my dock to my room and not have anything end up floating is worth it.

Good luck finding something to suit your needs.

For me, Firefox.
It does not have the floating dock problem.
