I have purchased A LOT of webbies from e-bay, they all have worked, but first you should check the seller's feedback, it ususlly helps to see what condition the other items they sold's condition were in before you buy from them.
Much of this has been said. I buy almost all of mine online at eBay. As long as you know how to pick a good buyer, you are fine. I have never had a problem. If you buy pre-sale for the next month's pets, you have to wait until your seller gets them in, once I had to wait quite a bit because her shipper was delayed, but she was very nice.
It's also a good way to get the rare/more popular pets. The whimsy pink dragon I bought early for $16 and now you can't get one for under $30. Plus you can find the exact one you want. Sometimes though they ask more than what the pet costs (for example, webkinz cares lil kinz sell at Walgreens for 6.99 but on eBay they are over $8 ) but if you can't get it in your area, maybe it's worth it.
Watch shipping costs -- many sellers have free shipping. Also, if you buy several pets from one seller they combine on shipping and this can save a few dollars too.
What i would do is first set a money limit (so you don't find yourself over your head) , find a seller with VERY positive feedback, and find to top it off find someone with that and who ships for close to nothing. (Shipping prices really hurt you in the end... with the price of the webbie(s) PLUS shipping.) Most imprtant of all try to get in contact with the seller, find out EXACTLLY what you are bidding on. DO NOT settle for anything that is less than your exscpetations!!! eBay is dangerous if you don't stand strong!!! Hope i helped- Ellie356
I buy most of my Webbies off of ebay. Here are a few tips that I look for. I always look at the description and make sure that it includes a new unused code. I also check the seller's approval rating. A few sellers I have noticed don't like to get around to sending their webkinz to you, but you can usually figure out those sellers, because they will have higher levels of negative feedback (I like to read the negitive feedback comments to see why they were given the neg feedback). I also make sure that the sellers except paypal, so if I don't recieve one I have an additional way of getting my purchase to me or my money back.
I have bought dozens of webkinz from ebay and have only had 1 bad experience. The person only excepted cashiers checks. I sent mine and never recieved my webkinz, so I filed a dispute with ebay, and it came to me within a week. If I would have paid better attention to their feedback, I would have noticed many other buyers had the same problem...so I think it's essential to check out the seller's feedback. I hope this helps you a little.
