I did understand that it was a way to say thank you or to show you think some one made a good point. I will continue to give rep in that way. What I did not understand is if it did any thing else. I was trying to learn more.A thank you is always a good thing to say and I agree there should be a way to do that. My reps made me fell like I helped someone. (which is why I took the time to write a reply) I just hear so many people talk about how important they are. I believe I totally get it now. I also agree that the helpful people have earned all their green dots,They could not have helped or bothered and WI would not be the great site it is!!!

Plus, they usually delete threads like this. People are supposed to make their own threads with questions...they don't allow question/advice threads.

Rep is a good way to show someone that what they did was helpful. Rep is a great thing. People with a lot of it have been nothing but helpful. It's not just a green dot...they earned it.
