Sorry if this has been discussed already, but the search feature never returns anything for me, therefore I wasn't able to locate anything on this topic.
We went to 2 different Walgreens this weekend. One no longer sells WC pets and the other store only had yorkies and a couple other older WC pets mixed in with other stuffed animal brands. I looked on Ganz's site and it no longer lists Walgreens as a seller of WC. Two other stores are listed but all they ever carried was the seal. Was WC only for 2008? Or perhaps they will make only large WC pets now. Anyone know? Thanks for any info.
I've also noticed, sadly, other local stores are cutting back on their Webkinz lines as well. No more cards, figurines, bags, clothes, etc.
I found the same thing with the Walgreens in my area, neither are selling the WC any more. One of my Hallmarks still carries everything, but the other close one only carries a a moderate about of the Webkinz and Lil' Kinz only, they stopped carry all the other items.
That's interesting.. I don't know. I know that the stores around here have cut back also. I think it has to do with the fact that Ganz flooded the market with all the new ones when they were popular and retiring and such and people got fed up with it. A similar thing happened a few years back with TY beanie babies. They just got greedy and people got tired of it and stopped buying them.
Granted, I only had the personal experience at ONE Walgreens, and then what I read from people here.
I'm sure wCares as an idea is not gone, maybe they are moving them to another chain store.
Walgreens people seem to not be trained for selling them, I'm sure tons of codes are getting stolen (my store they were in an end-cap that is not visible by employees at the registers, and most employees in that story are MIA (missing in action) to begin with ), and a lot of people that don't have WI as a source of information may not know that they even sell them there. Heck, the employees at the Walgreens I went to didn't even know they sold them
