They are a company producing a product. NOT a person doing this to be nice. They get money for this and it's adaqute enough to hire programmer that could easily fix every bug. They could, but they are too greedy to.

Before we get into the "let's see you do better" skirmish, let me inform you that my area of expertise is in computer hardware, not networking. Ganz knew what they were doing when they hired the people they hired or should have known. If Ganz was having hardware issues and if they were headquartered in my area, I would be glad to work for them.

I'll put it this way. It would be like a carpenter seeing a shoddy wiring job the electrician has done and saying something about it. The carpenter would not be speaking up because he could do a better job at wiring than the electrician; it's the electrician's job to do a better job at wiring. The carpenter does his job well and only his job. The electrician should be as equally good at his job as the carpenter is good at his respective job.

There aren't a ton of glitches in WW. I guess there are a lot, but not too many. I am perfectly fine with WW.

But a company is made of PEOPLE, not robots or supercomputers. Ganz does hire programmers to fix things, and it's not easy to fix every single thing that goes wrong. You can't just click a button or flip a switch to fix something. They are not "too greedy" either. Why do you think they close down WW every night? To fix things. (I hope this didn't sound rude )

I think I agree about there being some glitches but not too many to deal with- yes there are some and I think they are trying to correct them as they happen. I have found as well that sometimes it is the computer you are using. I have had difficulty with the please wait on one computer with an account and then would switch computers and get in without a problem--
I went back and read the original post on this and I do believe shutting down for an extended period of time would not be the answer- just think how upsetting it is when they shut down for a couple of hours for maintenance--LOL
It is frustrating to get the please wait but other than Christmas day when they were overloaded I have not had difficulty with any activities since.

I don't know if it is incompetence or rather a failure to communicate between the various departments devoted to Webkinz. I really think the tech people don't know until it is too late what the designers have promised the public, then they scramble to make things happen because they are under pressure. Meanwhile the glitches go on a back burner. The techies are probably aware of the server issues, but whoever holds the purse strings might not quite "get" the importance and be slow in approving the funds to upgrade and purchase new ones.

The title of this thread says it all - this is more of a wake-up call to Ganz than a let's bash Ganz festival. Many people are frustrated by the slow servers, the lack of consistance customer support, the pettiness of not replacing missing tiaras and POTM bags, etc. By venting these concerns we are hoping that someone, somewhere will notice the growing dissatisfaction and make some needed changes. They need to be made aware of the fact that people slowing up or stopping buying Webkinz products because their kids are losing interest, or because they themselves are frustrated with not being able to use the site as represented in their ads.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that it is as easy as pushing a button. The reason network administrators are paid the big bucks is because of the training they have under gone.

I really don't mean to complain. But the glitches (and how long it takes just to play!) is really starting to get to me.

I mean, I know WW will never be PERFECT, but is it too much to ask to want to be able to play WW without it taking FOREVER just to log on or play a game?
