Default Unanswered: Resizing pics.

OK, so I'm trying to attach a pic to a post, and I followed the directions in the how-to so I could take the pic of my room in webkinz world, but when I open the "Manage Attachments" window and try to upload the pic from my desktop, it says that "Your file of 412.2 KB bytes exceeds the forum's limit of 195.3 KB for this filetype." How do I resize it?

I posted this same question in another thread, but it's so buried I don't think anyone will see it!

The How to Guide is missing an important step fo reducing the size of big files to make them easier to upload..

Instead of using SAVE - which saves your file as a bitmap use SAVE AS and save the file in .JPG format - that will significantly reduce the size of your file without impacting the quality of your picture.

Follow the guide up to step 9 and then:

10: Select FILE and SAVE AS

Click on the first thumbnail to see what this looks like.

Under FILE NAME you should see SAVE AS TYPE

click on the small arrow at the right so the choices drop down and then select JPG.

Click on the second thumbnail to see what this looks like.

Save your file and then follow the uploading instructions.

This reduces the size of the file by 90%!

Thank you SO much. You are really nice to explain this all to me. I did it a little differently than your sequence, but the main idea of "save as" was what I needed. I finally took my first screen shot and posted my first attachment on WI. Check it out:

Thanks again!
