Question Answered: Proper Protocol for posting 'Breaking News'

What is the proper protocol for posting 'Breaking News'?

For instance, when the new game Jumble Berries went live earlier today... I did not see any posts for it anywhere (initially) and was unsure where to post, or who to inform. I went to WI News and Announcements intending to post a message there, and I do not have permission to post. So, I am wondering where to post such things.

Thank you for reading.

Only mods and admins can post in the breaking news section. If you have something you think should be on there you can post in the relevant forum (such as games) and then flag your own post so a moderator will see it. For the reason, simply put "Possible Front Page News."

I think at least some of the announcements that appear on WI's front page start out as threads here on WI and then the author of the thread flags the post (that button below your user name that looks like a red flag) to let a mod or admin know.

Gypsy - Thank you for replying and pointing out where the flag button is. I am new to the forums and there are ALOT of buttons and icons to figure out!

msclockart - Thank you for replying and the detailed answer. Now I understand why I couldn't post there, and I know exactly what to do in the future. Thanks again!
