What are these little green boxes? I see different amounts on other people...

That is rep. Se the little thumb up icon. It's next to the red flag. When you help someone they generally click the thumb up icon and say thanks or whatever they want to say. .Well those little green rep bars tell people how much rep you have gotten. No one knows for sure how many each bar represents.
