Default Answered: Posting Double?

I see people 'reserve' space on things like house threads and Avvie/Siggie shops by having double posts, like the same person posts 5 times in a row. Whenever I try to do that when I want to make a house thread, it just add what text I made into the previous post I made. Why is this?

Thanks!

It has nothing to do with time. Those posters added a lot of graphics (usually smilies) to their posts. You can't have more than 20 graphics in one post, so if there's 15 in the first post and 15 in the second post, the posts can't be merged into one post.

Hmm..I notice this, too. I think that the time difference between the 2 posts is causing it to not merge. Like if you post something, then 5 minutes later you want to add something when nobody else posted after you yet, it would merge into 1 post. But maybe if you left a half hour or so in between, it would be 2 posts. I'm not exactly sure on this, so don't take my word for it!

This forum has an auto-merge feature. If after a certain amount of time, you get no replies, you can add a reserved or in the signature section a pick-up post or more examples. NO BUMPING. Unless it's in the trading forum. A mod told me that you are 'entitled to 2 and even up to 5 posts on your own thread' It shouldn't merge if it's on a thread. Try pming a mod for more information/ answers.

Default Re: Posting Double?

There's a guide to reserving posts in the Housez section I believe....has to do with posting a bunch of smilies to get it to not double post.
