Default Re: Is there a virus on WI?

! I wouldn't know, sadly. I haven't gotten a virus, and other people haven't said it, so I'm pretty sure WI wouldn't have viruses. I don't even get viruses from WW, which is weird because it's a game.

But it's best to ignore them if they are just rumors. Some people come up with some CRAZY rumors, but you'll just have to wait until it's confirmed.

I honestly do not know if WI has viruses. I don't think so, for I haven't gotten a virus while on here.

Default Pop-UPs

OK .. this is the 2nd time this has happened and feel the need to post ... i found several posts in the past but those threads have been closed and I'm hoping i'm putting this thread in the right place.

It happened yesterday, a virus pop-up while i was on the WI site. ran a full scan. And it just happened again. the risk was a 'tracking cookie'.

any assistance would be appreciated.

According to my dad, tracking cookies aren't really that harmful.
I would probably contact a mod, and ask. Good Luck!

I assume you're using Internet Explorer?? I would use Mozilla Firefox, it's a lot safer and you don't get any pop-ups which is nice

Smile Re: Pop-UPs

I don't know if I can help much...but I can give some addvice.

I've had mcafee, and I know have AVG.to me it seems AVG works better, plus it's free!I would say if you feel that you need better virus protection then you may want to maybe look at this {AVG free download virus protection 9.0} (ask your guardian before downloading if you are a kid ) I was reading about AVG and this was stated "with no 'pop ups' "
(I have 9.0 and a computer specialist told me it was a good kind.)

Don't click on ads they can carry a virus.

You can PM justin the owner of WI so he can take a look at this see if there is anything wrong with WI that needs fixing.

if you start seeing major system problems (losing control of mouse...mouse pointer changing by itself..etc.)then you may need to tell a adult and suggest going to your computer specialist (a person that can get a virus out)

Facebook and myspace are the worst places for a virus..from clicking on people's pages that have virus's.

Click this spoiler if you wanna know about other stuff ↓(what to watch out for.)
Spoiler: show

remember you need to get down to the bottom of this..because it could be a serious virus..or a person trying to get your personal info! (credit card number, address, phone number,name,e-mail,etc...)

Hope I helped you some!Webkinzro

Be sure that what you got is a cookie and not malware. These are usually programs that hijack one or more of your computer functions, claiming that your computer is "infected". Of course, they will "disinfect" your computer for a price. Don't be fooled.

This has been happening to me as well, and I've been told to switch to firefox, even though we've always used IE. I find it really wierd how this is happening now,
