This is how you can take a picture of your computer screen:
You can use the PrntSc button (next to the F12 button... or close to it). This will print your entire computer screen at the time so make sure you have the room you want on your screen and centered.
Open Paint (Start> Programs> Accessories)
Hit Ctrl + V (CONTROL is right under the SHIFT key- you will need to press and hold Ctrl and then press V... V stands for paste... don't ask me why).
Use the dotted lined box to crop your image. Print screen seriously prints the entire screen so you want to save a nice picture. Hightlight what you want.
Hit Ctrl +C (C stands for copy... makes sense)
Open a new file (FILE> NEW)
Hit Ctrl + V
Then save this new file on your computer. Make sure it somewhere you can find it like the desktop.
From there you can open up an online photo storage site like tinypic.com or photobucket.com (I use photobucket). When you upload a picture there, they will give you a link to copy. Copy it (highlight it and hit Ctrl+C) and then in your post, you select the little yellow mountain picture found next to the Earth with a link:
Press that button and a small window will pop up telling you to paste a http:// link in, this is where you will paste your link from photobucket or tinypic. To paste, you would hit Ctrl+V.
You could also upload it directly to WI without having to go through another website but the picture is smaller. To do this, click on GO ADVANCED. You will be taken to another screen. Go down to MANAGE ATTACHMENTS and it will pop up an upload screen. Click UPLOAD and go look for your picture on your computer. Open that and it wil upload it to WI. In your post, go to where you want to insert your picture. Next to the Smiley on the top row of options is a paperclip. Select the paper clip and pick the picture you want. Viola! It attaches a picture.
Here's a wonderful tutorial with pictures. Let me know if you need more help.
You can do the Print Screen method (printscreen, paint, save) but if you have a Mac or a Vista you can do the following.
MACS: you have the option to use 4 of the following combinations: command-shift-3: capture screen to file
command-fn-shift-3: capture screen to clipboard
command-shift-4: capture selection to file
command-fn-shift-4: capture selection to keyboard
VISTA: On Windows Vista computers, there is a program built into it called "Snipping Tool". Search for it on your Start meny and you can use that. Click "Save".
