Hi!

Here is a link to a tutorial for photoshop that I liked. Adobe Photoshop Tutorials - Tutorialized

Photoshop is kind of hard to get used to at first, but after an hour or two things start to become clearer. I have the Adobe Photoshop CS4 version. If you need any help, you can PM me and specify on what you are doing for the order; there are all kinds of marvelous things you can do on Photoshop!

Good luck!

P.S. In case Photoshop gives you too much trouble, I find that Picnik is an easy site with almost all the Photoshop effects laid out for you. You could give that a try if you want, too.

Since most sigs and avatars have images in them, here's a good tutorial on using the Magic Wand tool, one of the best ways to cut out images :
http://artist.tizag.com/photoshopTut...icwandtool.php

One you have your image, there's various ways you can make a background. Photoshop has some pretty fun brushes that you can use, as well as textures. Depending on the Photoshop, you can edit brushes by going to Window > Brushes. Scatter gives a nice random effect to the brush strokes.

Another fun way to make backgrounds is the filters (I reccommend saving your image before using these, they've caused my Photoshop to crash on occassion). The Render > Cloud filter is pretty good when combined with some of the distortion and blur filters (a lot of it is playing around to see what you like). The color of the clouds is determined by your background and foreground colors. You'll want to use different layers for your image and your background, so nothing gets messed up. If your filters can't be selected, check Image > Mode and make sure 8 Bit is selected.

You can also use an image off Google for a background. Image > Adjustments allows you to make color changes to images.

Mixing some of the background techniques works too !

You can also make your images appear to have a transparent background instead of a white box around them by making the background color the same as the webkinz insider pages.

The Webkinz Insider background color reads, depending upon which color mode you use, to me to be: DBE6F8 or R219 B230 B248
