Question Answered: Outlined Text Help

Okay, so I learned how to make outlined text with a transparent backround on GIMP from a WI tutorial, and I made sure I followed the steps correctly. But mine always turns out really pixely around the edges of the outline, and looks really weird.

I save it as a PNG, and upload it on Photobucket. It doesn't do this with regular transparent text, only when I outline it. The person who made the tutorial's graphic turned out amazing, so is there any advice you could give me? Thanks to anyone who can help.

You need to save it as a gif if you want a transparent background.
And sometimes if its a HUGE file the image will resize and get kind of pixely.

does it look pixelish in gimp too, or only after you save it?

if it's before the saving, maybe try giving the border layer a little amount of blur.

and if it's only after you save -- are you sure you're saving it as png-24? i'm not sure how png-8 works with transparency. i know that png-24 should definitely work
