I keep on being randomly logged out from WI. This wouldn't normally be a problem but I just spent about 45 min. writing a poetry guide on here and when I clicked "post" I was logged out and all my work as deleted. Does anyone know how I can stop that from happening? Next time of course, I will save my work on microsoft word but it would still be nice to not be logged out every thirty minuits or so. Also, If I do log out properly, I can't log out with the log-out button at the top of the page, I have to use the one on the very bottom of the main forum page. Please help, I really don't want to loose my work on here again.
Next time you login, try pressing the little box underneath your passwaord. It says: "Remember Me". That way, you should be automatically logged in each time you play on WI. (Of course, needs to be the same browser and computer.)
Thank you for the advice! However, I've tried that before and it doesn't seem to do a thing (or at least I can't figure out what it does.)The problem seems to persist whether I have 'remember me' on or not.
If you don't have WI cookies on, it automatically logs you out after 20 or so minutes. Its because you have it set so no browsing info is remembered. When I don't do anything for a while, I get logged out too.
Here's how you can make it automatically log you on every time-
Click 'tools' on the bar above the internet screen
If there's a drop down menu, set it on Remember History
then press ok
That's how to do it on firefox, its probably the same on IE but I'm not sure, so ask me if this doesn't work.
If you are too rushed to open a wp program, another help is to save in memory (highlight, copy/Ctl C) anything long you are posting just before hitting post. Then, if disaster strikes, you still have it to try again (paste/Ctl V)
