Default Re: Less yield from crops

The crop yield seems to be the same whether or not you water. I've just harvested another garden with perfectly normal results. You do have to allow for normal variations.

Regarding crop pricing, I noticed today that pumpkins were on sale for 3 KC, down from what they said was 7, or was that even 5? Normally they cost 10 KC, whether you're buying or selling. Perhaps there is a seasonal price adjustment...

So it's not just my imagination!! I too have noticed a severe decrease in my crop yields. Has anyone tried crop rotation? For the last few days, after I harvested a crop, I removed the plants from the garden. After I had a few empty gardens, I replanted a different variety of seed. This is really tedious work. There's a good chance that I'm wasting my time. None of the crops I rotated are ready for harvest yet, so I'm not sure if this will have any affect on yield. I'll post again later with the results.

A few months ago, I tried a different experiment. I started a new garden, watered half every day, and only raked the other half each day. All of the plants were ready for harvest on the same day and had about the same average yield per plant. So that blew my theory about watering. Perhaps things have changed??? I'm going to start the same experiment again today.
Verrrrrry frustrating.

I had posted earlier that we were getting the same results. Well within the last two days I have noticed our crop yields diminish. Our strawberry plants are only getting one or two and the same with the carrots. This is extremely frustrating especially when we are trying to gather as much KC as possible to buy lots of Halloween items.

Hi!! I usually leave a path in my garden. I think you need to leave at a space in front of at least one of the doors. When you adopt a pet, they can show up anywhere. If they show up in garden that doesn't have any open spaces, evidently it gets locked up.

I think you don't necessarily need a space in the middle, but you do need at least one open space other than the doorway.

I don't keep a written list of yields, but mine seem to be about normal. I just started a new garden on one of my accounts and it has a lower yield than my established garden, but that one also had lower yields for a while before it got going too.

I hope they get the daily tasks going by tomorrow. That is a fair amount of KC each day. At least the employment office is working. Blessings

thank you so much for answering me!!! good, i dont have to redo my pretty maze garden. (all the doors are unblocked ... i knew about that glitch.) the new gardens, all have an extra space by the door and i'm leaving the 4 squares in the middle open, too.

i gave you rep pts for answering me. thanks so beary much!!!

To answer those who wonder about the values of foods in feeding your pets, I've got the WI cookbook translated to an Excel spreadsheet with all that information. I added some of the give away foods like W Cares foods, charm forest candy and cookies, and the farm fresh ones at the end. I'll attach it for those who want to use it. I sell all my farm fresh and cook recipe foods with W shop foods, many sale ones (I stock up), and free foods, so I feed for less.

I wondered myself if the crops would diminish in yields from not watering and allowing more weeds. From those who have records, it sounds like that is NOT the case. Thanks for keeping track and reporting that for all of us!

I do the same thing, just so I don't have to keep clicking the map, becuase most of my 16 gardens are all by each other

I was also told on the phone to do that, because 100 crops/items in a room is too much...

you never know, you may have stuck crops that aren't growing..
