Where you browsing anything else at the time? I mean another window open?

Sometimes if you had just browsed another site like a chat site or online shopping site it will pop up right after.

I have had that fake scanner pop up before...but not on WI or WW.

It is important to shut off the fake browser and do a virus scan afterward.

I feel safe browsing WI because it does not usually link to dangerous viruses. But thank you for the heads up.

No,the only site I've been on is WI,and WW.
I did shut off the browser, restarted, and then did a full computer sweep just to be safe. I'm just worried it will pop up again. This is a really old computer, and the only desktop working in the house--it can't be restarted/turned off multiple times a day.

Justin we know that you are working very hard to find out the problem and I personally would like to Thank You Very Much for all your hard work and also Thank You for WI.

I had this same thing happen yesterday. I was only on WI and WW, too. I went to load the virus scan thing, but didn't recognize the site. So, I tried to cancel and it kept popping up anyway. I just kept cancelling until it went away. I knew I was protected, because McAfee told me I was protected. I closed everything and ran a full virus scan just to be safe. This has happened before. But, I just run my regular scan when it does!

Yeah, that's what happened to me. I knew it came from WI because the site came up on WI's tab on Firefox. I kept clicking off the popup, but it was very determined I had to restart my computer to make it go away. I ran a full scan of my computer using AVG,and it didn't detect anything thankfully. I just hope Justin can figure out how to make this ad go away. I didn't see the ad itself, because by the time I clicked off WW,it had already loaded itself into WI's tab.

Just cancel it when it happens. It is just spam. You do not usually need to restart your computer

I had the same thing happen last night too. I only had WW & WI open. Fortunately my real Anti-Virus program got rid of it. I have been getting a lot of "You Have Won" ads popping up on WI over the last few months also. I have to close out of WI to get it to stop.
