Problem is our IE has not been working right due to everytime opening it up it tries taking us to different sites automatically and wont let us go anywhere. So, the repairmen put Mozilla on and said not to use IE anymore.
We also have AVG, and we have so many different spyware protection programs too.
Also, does the Insider subscription thing, do we have to have paypal to do it?
I had this pop up to luckily i have a mack and know i don't have a virus but it isnt from clicking on n add it just randomly redirects me. Weird so yeah dont download the software i'm sure once you to that its all over. But I dont think that blocking the adds would do it because it jsut randomly redirects you dont even have to be doing anything except have the page open. It is also only happening to me while i'm on WI
I have had that happen three times, and once, while on a thread to help make animations, I clicked on the link that gave you the free program to make the animations and my computer instantly turned off. Then when I turned it on again, it said that the computer shut down immediately to protect files and the computer...it was very scary because my new computer has lots of stuff I do not want to loose...thank god for that....
I think sponsors that put up ads with spyware, malware, etc should be permanently banned from by . I use both Internet Explorer and Opera and it does not seem to matter what browser. Every computer I have every got onto with, no matter what virus protection they had, have ALL experienced lasting, major problems from that point forward and, for the most part, we have not been able to ever correct it. I feel really bad about this, because I had got onto it on other people's computers before I recognized what the source of the problem was. Other friends of mine have come to the same conclusion independently of me saying anything, so it's sort of undeniable at this point. Some of my friends refuse to go here anymore, which of course makes me the one who has to look up everything. Obviously I must think the benefits out-weigh the risks at this point, but when I get a new computer (which at this point seems unavoidable because of this), I will only use this old system to get on from now on. Love this site!! but the few bad sponsors that pull this stuff, ruin it for everyone.
there is a virus circulating where there is a trojan horse that claims to be your virus scanner and tells you need to download this software to save your computer from a virus
don't do it, unless you know 100% you are using your computer's virus protection software
Same thing JUST happened to me! I panicked,and clicked off. I scan my entire computer everyday,and my virus scanner will alert me if something tried to hack into my computer.
What's going on?!
Edit; I read up a little more,it didn't say anything about downloading an antivirus? It had two options; "Get me out of here!" (which I obviously clicked),and something about going to the site anyway. I never click on ads on here,and all I did was leave my WI page open. This is freaky o__o;
