Number One : Why are people's usernames printed in Green while mine is printed in Black? They are Gift Guru's. Don't know why it's it green, as GG's seem to be a dime a dozen these days, but, they are
Number Two : How do you do gift exchange?
Number Three : How to become a girt trainee , gift guru ect...First apply on the thread in WI Rules and Suggestions. If they think you are ready, you will become a GT. You will then be taught by the GC's. When they think you are ready, they'll nominate you, a mod will review your thread, and then you'll be Gifted.
Let me go and see if I can find the link for you to apply to the TS..which is the training section for the Gift Exchange.
I really never noticed the different color in the names....so I would be afraid to speculate and give the incorrect info....
As for being a Gift Guru..there are requirments, steps to take etc. once you get through the TS program. After that you will be allowed in the what we call the big GE section. After a time there and a number of trades and requirments you will be allowed to apply for gift guru status..which allows trading through pm's with other gurus.
Number One : Why are people's usernames printed in Green while mine is printed in Black? Number Two : How do you do gift exchange? Number Three : How to become a girt trainee , gift guru ect...
Anyone please answer these questions!
Number One - Another poster was right. The Gift Guru's are in Green. We might be a dime a dozen now, but that goes to show you what fabulous people WI has. As the Gurus have to have their trading evaluated before they can be a guru, as well as their general demeaner (as in not using U or R or text talk, and showing they are willing to help out).
Number Two - The gift exchange is 'similar' to the WW trading rooms. Basically you and someone else agree on a fair trade and then you kinz post to one another. The differences are huge though as WI has a training program to ensure new gift exchange people understand the values of items and go through the correct process to exchange. Also new trainees are monitor and as far as I have experience scamming has a zero tolerance here. You do it, you are banned. It is a safer way of aquring the things you want.
Number Three - To become a trainee you need to be an active member for two weeks and have at least 50 'non-fluff' posts (someone above has added the link). But basically fluff posts are like "yeah, I agree" or "YAYYYYYY you ROCK" etc. Some post don't count towards your totals so it is wise to have quite a few more than 50 before you apply.
If accepted into the training program (which can take a few tries. There are only so many coaches for each trainee so if you don't get accepted or the thread for trainees closes, just wait and try again later. If you get rejected, ensure you qualify. Get out there and do some real good helpful posts and try again), you will be assigned a Gift Coach who will help you every step of the way. Any questions you have for them they will gladly help you with. They will also give you pop quizes etc. to ensure you know how to do things like reading the WIGEV, or knowing your rules etc. The Gift Coaches will moniter your gift exchanges and once they feel you are ready they will nominate you to 'graduate' from the trainee program. This doesn't mean you will become Gifted right away as someone else will then review your trades and your posts off of the gift trainee board to ensure you are still following the rules of WI. This takes some time. After you move up to Gifted and you want to become a Guru you have to make 50 unique trades with other members. You also have to have 100 posts out side the gift exchange that are non-fluff and be a member of the Gifted gift exchange for a minimum 30 days. Once you apply for Guru status your trades will once again be looked at as well as your outside posts. They are looking for people who are willing to go the extra mile to help other people, as well as people who make good gift exchanges.
It does sound over whelming. But once you get started it all falls into place. A lot of people feel it is too hard to do, but the people here at WI only want to have individuals who want to do the Gift Exchange right, by taking their time to learn. It is a great bunch of people, and I have met some fabulous gift exchange people who I would have never met any other way. I have also aquired items that I wouldn't have had I not joined up
Sorry for the novel. I hope this helps explain things a little bit
What is the Gift Exchange?
The Gift Exchange is WI's safe trading area. We have a number of rules in place to keep this area safe for trading and to prevent scamming. Trading outside of the Gift Exchange is not allowed on WI!!
Where is the Gift Exchange?
As a protected area, the Gift Exchange must be unlocked, so people who don't have the required number of posts and haven't agreed to the rules cannot see the Gift Exchange.
How do I get in to the Gift Exchange?
Please read the rules and post your agreement as a response once you are done reading them. All members that are new to the Gifting process will be named Gift Trainees and placed in the Gifted Training Section before proceeding to the regular Gift Exchange.
