Once before we had a problem with this ad showing up on WI and Justin was able to use information from our members to block it. If you see this advertisement on your computer, please make note of what advertisements are running at the moment it pops up. Justin can go into the system and block them from ever appearing again.
He can also use that information to file a complaint with the company that provides us with our advertisements. We are NOT supposed to be getting ads like this.
Thanks for letting me know. I've got this message on several different computers while on WI. The only problem with being able to take note of which ad it was, is that you have to actually be paying attention to the ads! Usually I am typing something when this happens, not looking to see which ad has just switched and when this message pops up, the only way to get rid of it (that I've figured out and that is effective) is that I have to close the screen the virus is on. (Not try to navigate away, but actually CLOSE explorer) The new ad covers up what you were doing and you can no longer see what was on the page you were looking at. Yes, quite frustrating.
I just got another warning at around 6:30am Eastern time. It was a different looking warning this time that said potential security risk, do you want to continue? I had to run task manager to end task to get off the page. After running a scan with Norton, nothing came up though.
I should add that I had to totally restart my computer before I could even run that scan with Norton.
Happenend to me again last eveing too. It scary. Hard to get the warnings off the screen. Keeps popping up to say Run or cancel. If I cancel it just comes back. I just donated to WI -- heard that will get rid of the ads?
March 5th @ 7:17 am KT. I just got this warning. I didn't have a chance to take a screen shot or read the whole thing, I just clicked out of it fast & then another web site started to come up, so I clicked out of it before it started.
