Answered: I have a couple questions about the creative writing section......
I was just reading the rules for the creative writing section, and I noticed a couple things, some rather disappointing, and some things I am confused about. Any help will be appreciated!
1. Characters aren't supposed to die, right? Well, can they die of natural causes? Like, cancer, or old age? Also, are animals allowed to die?
2. And let me get this straight.....people can't even fight each other? I don't know if it's even possible for an action story to not have fights. Or did I just misread that rule? Does it only include violent fights?
3. Can I pretend that a character dies, leave it as a cliffhanger, and then say in the next chapter that they really didn't die? And if so, would I have to pm a moderator to tell them about that?

here's what i have to say
(i am not a mod or anything but yeah...)
1- well, i think animals are allowed to die, but i am not sure about the like main character and stuff i sorta think it is a dumb rule but that is just me xD
i made a story once and in it two characters died but i never said that they did.. you could probably tell if you read it, they became like spirits, but i never said " so and so died" but said something like "they appeared different as before, they had the same shape but they were clear, and glowing. my face turned pale as i realized what had happened."
2- i think there can be MINIMAL violence, or like an argument, but like no blood....
3- yeah that is fine i think
and i don't think you would have to PM a mod
you might want to ask a mod/admin about this tho
they do this so like 7 year olds can read this but there is more violence used in disney movies than there is in stories allowed here xDD

Re: I have a couple questions about the creative writing section......
I think when they say 'die' they mean no posting something involving swords and blood/gore. I'm sure death by a natural cause is permitted. I can't see why not.

Those are some good questions, Tyrannus Rex.
I would suggest just leaving out that stuff altogether. No dieing. No violence.
I think an argument might be fine, just as long as it is not really serious and violent. A disagreement. Also, I wouldn't leave it as a cliff hanger, because if it is only a short creative writing piece, anyone reading it will clearly just assume they died. Its creative, so adapt your story to fit the rules!
