Ok, I was going to do my usual thing in WW, go to the Clubhouse. I let the page load and then I click on Kinz Chat or Kinz Chat Plus. I was able to get in, but when I clicked on a room to go in, the screen froze! I was still able to click on the "friends in clubhouse" button, stuff in my dock, and the "things to do" button. I tried again, but the same thing. Help!
I have heard of this happening to a few other WI members. The first thing you should try and do is switching color zones. You can do so by going to your kinzchat phone, and clicking the
'Zone' button in the lower right - hand corner. If you have done thatalready, and the problem is still persisting, the next thing you should do is try logging out and then back in again. If that does not work, tryclearing your cache and/or restarting your internet browser. And if all elsefails, you should contact Ganz. The best way to do that is by phone and their phone number is: 1-866-WEBKINZ. Good luck!
To be honest with you, I don't know exactly what a cache is, I think it holds
all your personal information from when you use the internet or something,
all I know for sure is that when you clear it it usually solves problems. Here is a guide
that talks about how to clear it.
A cache is a computer record of where you've been...it helps the computer run faster in some cases. It's something the computer creates itself. It's nothing that you have done or created or really want stored. It's like a picture of a page from a website you visited which might be out of date now. Some people, for instance, are having trouble seeing the new outdoor W shop items because their computers are going and taking the old pictures of the W shop out of the cache instead of going to the WW server and getting the new one. If these people go and clear their cache, the computer HAS to go to the server and get the new picture of what's there.
Sometimes, if too many old pages and pictures are stored in a cache, the computer can be slowed down and have trouble functioning till the cache is cleared. Clearing a cache is like computer maintenance. Like changing the oil on a car. It is really good for the computer and if your parents understand what a cache is they shouldn't have trouble with you clearing it. It's like empyting a recycle bin of all the files you have deleted (some computers don't actually delete them till you do this second step!). The files stay there taking up memory till you clean them out. Does this make more sense now? Hope so. Have your parents read this and they may help you clean the cache the first time.
