ok, i see people with pictures in their threads where the picture is not an attachment, but like part of the thread. i noticed this especially in the house section. i want to make a thread for my house, but my attachments get full, how do you make the picture where it is part of your post?
Yep! I had that question when I first joined WI! Actually-I just figured that out! LOL =] All you have to do is upload through tinypic, copy, and paste...
...What would we do without all those computer nerds on WI?
LOL Or maybe it's just that I'm really behind! LOL =] Have fun with the pictures!
Its easy! I'll post my answer anyway... as if anyone else hadn't posted their answer yet or anything. xD
Well, I'm sure you already know how to save a picture to your computer and what not. But after that you find an image host. There are a ton out there, but I think the most commonly used ones are Photobucket or Imageshack or Tinypic.
I use photobucket, but that's a preference sort of thing. You then sign up with whoever you chose and and click "upload picture" or "upload". And a little window will pop up with all the pictures on your computer. Pick the one you want then click ok.
Your image should then upload. You then copy and paste the direct link. The direct link will be short and something like: photobucket.com/apple/banana_pear.gif Its not going to be super long.
Once you've located that copy it. (Right click - Copy). Then you can click on the little picture icon on the top of the thread that you're typing in. Its like a white rectange with grass and a sky in it next to the earth.
A window will pop up asking for the url of your image. Just paste your direct link and hit okay. Ta-da your image is now on your thread/post/reply... or whatever.
You can also use the code but I think the the other way is easier. But again personal preference.
Not sure how much of that you knew... but I thought I'd post anyway. (:
