I think the GE is primarily older people, but I think there are at least as many young people on here as there are adults. Perhaps child was the wrong word. Children, teens, young teens. If you stick to the webkinz only parts of the board it is more adult than child, but if you venture into the lower sections on the forum home page it's a whole different world. I think there was a time when it was mostly adults here, but lately it seems to be more overun with children.

I am going to let this go at this point. I will say this in closing...there is no excuse for rudeness or spitefullness on WI at ANY age. Why should spite and malice be excused at an early age? We, as adults, should be setting an example by encouraging good behavour, not excusing bad behaviour, as a "child" thing.

I'm not sure why you think I'm excusing the behavior? I'm pretty sure I never said anything even close to that. The original poster that I replied to suggested being allowed to see who left you poor ratings. I was only voicing my opinion as to why that would be a bad idea. In my opinion it would only ADD to the bad behavior and not stop it. If I wanted to be spiteful and rate someone's thread poorly as the system is now they would have no way to know for sure it was me. Some might figure it out, but most wouldn't. I didn't mention that alot of users were children as a way of excusing it. I mentioned it because children react differently than adults. Most, not all, will strike back at a person they feel wrongly rated their thread by going to that persons thread and rating it poorly also. They may even have a group of friends go and rate that person's thread poorly also. I'm not excusing that behavior because they are children. I'm not saying the person who left that first spiteful rating wasn't wrong, but it doesn't help anything to create a back and forth rating war which is what I think would happen if users could see who rated their threads.

I never said it was ok to be mean and spiteful, I just said it would create even more of the bad behavior by changing the system.

Really don't know why you're taking this stance..bad behavior is bad behaviour...and this is going back and forth too, imo

I'm taking this stance because you're accusing me of something I'm not doing and I don't think it's wrong to defend yourself as long as you do it in a respectful manner which I feel I have. I really don't understand why you think I'm excusing the behavior because I have never said it was ok to behave that way. The only thing I have said the whole time is that changing the system would create even more bad behavior. I have never said the behavior was ok and I'm sorry you continue to think that I am condoning it because I'm simply not.
