Default Re: Help webkinz keeps powering of my laptop

Just curious, what kind of machine do you have? I had the same problem with my laptp until last week. The latest version of adobe is actually pretty processor intensive and was causing my laptop to heat up so much that it would shut down. The root cause was that I had a faulty fan and my laptop was not cooling correctly. So it appeared that every time i went to Webkinz/used adobe, my laptop was overheating.

Doesn't sound like a Ganz issue to me - sounds like there is something off in your laptop.
It isn't a virus thing (at least that I have ever heard of).

Check your anti-virus and firewall settings. You might have it set to have your system shut down when it encounters certain types of scripts. Ganz has a LOT of scripts running, of course, between their ads (which you can shut off the outside ads) and Java, Flash, etc.

Makre sure your Flash and Java are both updated. Java just had another update tonight...
you didn't say what brand or which operating system (Win xp or Vista) you were running, so hard to be specific. But, if Windows, you should be able to go to your control panel and run a Windows Update audit deal - make sure everything is as up to date as possible,
clear cookies and cache and try again.

Is it only the Ganz site? If so, make sure they are on your "safe" list -
Internet Explorer>Tools>Security tab>add it to Trusted Sites list.
They could have a script that is getting blocked by your computer.
(Of course, tonight they are having server issues, so don't go by that!)

If other sites are doing it as well, your battery could be failing, or you could have a short in your A/C cord.... all kinds of variables!
