They do Not have lead. There was never a recall. Check snoops.com or any other search engine. The recall would have been all over the news if a childrens product had lead or had been recalled. Ganz just decided to quit making them.
Some lady did an at home test and found trace amounts of lead in the paint. She created such a stink about it on the internet that ganz decided to stop making them. There isn't nearly enough lead in them to hurt anyone. I'd call the vet to be sure the metal can't hurt him though. I think it will just go through him and he'll be fine.
Yes, they do have lead in them. That's why they aren't in stores any more.
No, the Charms are OK!!!
Yes, there is a MINOR quantity of lead in PEWTER which the Charms are made of.
The reason Ganz pulled the Charms off the shelves was because AT THE TIME they were pulling all toys from China with lead in them and they PULLED the CHARMS Voluntarily!!
The ONLY way you could get sick from the charms is if you ATE ALL 24 Of them
