We wash ours. We put them in a pillowcase (I saw that someone else suggested that) and wash and dry them with no problems. There are some that wash better than others. For instance, the ones with the long hair tend to mat (like the lion mane, terrier, himalayan). I wouldn't necessarily recommend washing them.
