Answered: Adobe Flash Script Error - Screen Has no scrollbars and can not view entire screen
I am trying to use webkinz with my new 8" Acer laptop with Windows XP and running on Internet Explorer 8.0. When I go to log on, the log on screen is cut off at the bottom. I can use F11 and get the full screen at this point. When I log in, an Error Window appears which states that
"A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 10 to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may be unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?"
If I select "Yes", the site never loads. If I select "No" the site loads but it only loads a portion of the webpage which cuts off the bottom portion. There are no scroll bars to scroll down so I can not access anything on the lower half of the page. I have tried a few tricks that I have read on the posts (F11, F5, going to special urls, etc.) but none work. Can anyone assist?
If you PM someone from the staff they can generally tell you.
Also, they may have been against the rules, for instance, things involving romance are not allowed in several sections. Its also possible this was a duplicate thread because someone had already made one. .
Re: Adobe Flash Script Error - Screen Has no scrollbars and can not view entire screen
I think in order to get it to work you have to upgrade your version of adobe flash. That used to happen to me and then I got a new computer and it works fine.
Re: Adobe Flash Script Error - Screen Has no scrollbars and can not view entire screen
I have the 10 in acer notebook which I use for work, but have tried to use for other things and as you said the exact thing happened to me. Have not been able to fix yet. I hope you can and then share what works. Thanks.
Re: Adobe Flash Script Error - Screen Has no scrollbars and can not view entire screen
I wouldn't worry about the script error. I get that all the time on one of my computers, but not the other (you need to allow the script to run).
I don't have that type of computer, but mine is running Windows XP. The only thing I can think of (at this time) is to right click on your desktop. You should see an option for "Properties". Click on that. Go to the "Settings" tab. There you should be able to change your screen resolution. Try changing it until you can see your whole WW screen. I am hoping that your computer allows for more than one screen resolution setting.
Re: Adobe Flash Script Error - Screen Has no scrollbars and can not view entire screen
Yes, change your screen res. Go to webkinz.com, click the "help" section (bottom left) , click technical issues, click "I can't see everything; some things are cut off on the bottom". (8th one from the top) This should help.
The flash script error is something different. I have several accounts and I get this error on only one. The same one everytime. It also occurs on different computers. It is the account with the most stuff on it, so it is either due to the difficulty in loading a big acct or one of the items has an error. Do not abort (choose no) to allow the script to run. I usually don't have any further problems.
Re: Adobe Flash Script Error - Screen Has no scrollbars and can not view entire screen
So far, I've tried all your suggestions and none of them worked. Thanks for trying! It's really going to make me regret my acer purchase if I can't play webkinz on it!!! There's got to be a fix. I'll have to try calling webkinz and see if they know.
Re: Adobe Flash Script Error - Screen Has no scrollbars and can not view entire screen
I use to get that message when I had too many things in my dock and I would try to open it up. I've started emptying out my dock before I leave webkinz world each time and I don't get that message any more.
There was a time when I had about 2,500 things in my dock so it wasn't an ordinary amount in there. As an added bonus to clearing out my dock I can move from room to room faster now too.
I don't know if that's the problem that you're having or not but it couldn't hurt to look.
Re: Adobe Flash Script Error - Screen Has no scrollbars and can not view entire screen
Thanks everybody. Firebird was right - Firefox browser solved the issue. Still do not get the scrollbars but I am now able to use the up and down arrows to see the entire screen.
