It's funny, I was just chatting with my Mom about something similar OK, what I decided is that Webkinz is a hobby. I occasionally change hobbies, but I've enjoyed webkinz for several years and continue to do so. Maybe you could tell your Mom that it's your hobby and something you really enjoy doing--collecting plushies and playing in WW.
And there are so many people of different ages who play in WW too! Adults, teens, kids. There really is not a true right or wrong--it's a personal decision. Some people would rather have fancy clothes, but I would rather have Webkinz!
Maybe saying that Webkinz is a hobby you enjoy would work Also, doing chores to get an allowance to buy the plushies yourself would show your Mom how important this is to you.
My mom says I was too old for them too, and now I don't play anymore.
But, I did chores to earn money, and to show my parents that I really did want them.
I agree with the post above ^
You should do stuff your parents would want you to do, then they will think you are truly
responsible, and think that you would deserve them for your hard work. =]
Maybe you could convince you mom to only one pet a year just to keep your account running. Also another good idea would ask her to help you play Quizzy's Word Challenge in the arcade with you. Trust me adults love that game. Educational and addictive.
I think you should talk to her about how much you love webkinz. I think she will understand. If not, you could start making suggestions to her like, "I'll pay for webkinz with my own money." or "I'll empty the dishwasher twice a week if I get a new webkinz every month." You can also show her all the fun and games on webkinz; Show her how to do dailies, play in the clubhouse, and decorate rooms. Maybe afterwards she will change her mind. This has worked significantly with my mother and now she loves webkinz as much as I do!
I think people have given you good suggestions. Try doing chores to earn money to buy your own webkinz and show your mom how some of the games area really educational. Also tell her that there are a lot of teenagers and adults that play. Take it from this grandma here, I love it even though I have no grandchildren that I play it with.
All you need is one lil kinz a year to keep your account open.
I'm sorry your mom says your to old to play. There are probably as many adults (if not more) as kids under 18 that play. I past my teen years some time ago and my mother and I play webkinz every day. I would do chores like the others have said and try to pay for your own webkinz as long as your mom still allows you on the computer to do so. I think its a shame that at this day and age, with so many troubled kids that could be spending their free time doing things they shouldn't be doing, that some people think ww isn't appropraite after a certin age. As long as your doing homework, chores, and any other responsibities your parents ask you to do, you should explaine to your mom how important this is to you. Not only is it fun but educational too. Quizzy's teaches alot of things and games like booger gets an a helps with math. I hope your mom can understand and you can continue to play ww. My fingers are crossed for you.
Looks like you got some great advice!
Also, you might want to show her online the things you enjoy. Tell her Webkinz was designed for younger kids, but more and more older kids and adults are enjoying it. I agree you should try to earn your own money for Webkinz.
