Which is great, Hanna. And is exactly what I did this time around. Again, the reason it's so confusing to me is, if THOSE 100 posts weren't good enough, I'd prefer to know WHY rather than just dive in and put up another 100 that are on the same level.

They seem to be saying that we have been rejected again...although, without the automated PM, not only are we un-certain, but more importantly, we're left without reasoning...which really does frustrate me. Especially if this implies (which I think it does) that the earlier rejection PM, was ENTIRELY automated, meaning the explanation of why was just a form letter. Which is of course OK for a large scale operation as this, but leaves cases like ours (and I'm sure many others) stuck in limbo with no real means to appeal. I'm sure we could both find 50 non-fluffy posts, but there doesn't seem to be a clear NON-Automated way to further the applications. While I understand how thorough WI has been in setting up and protecting the GE, it seems like some of the vagueness about the rules is hurting things. Setting minimums to prove yo uare an active and valuable part of the community are wonderful ideas, but leaving the judging of who is "worthy" (for lack of a better word) seems to be kinda vague. Does Cows have the one and only say? And what are the TRUE critera to "non-fluffy"?
Hi there ... lol, and thanks for referring to my post ... but next time, if you could give me a little notification first .... before talking about my post .... that'd be great.
Those PMs are automated .... as most have come to realize, the message stays the same, something about posts lacking relevency/content?

Non-fluffy? Well ... your post above would be a great example of "non-fluffy"
Also, copying & pasting the same welcoming post over and over again, to welcome new members, I don't believe all of those count, only one of them. Just in case some people have been doing that ...

That's true. But I'm not sure, think about it - would mods really have the time to look over every single post of a member, and give them a nice lengthy PM about it? No, probably not. It would be absolutely fantastic if they could, but they're busy enough.
However ... you can bet that about 97% of those rejected applications are so because of those 50 non-fluff posts ... everything else {being a member for two weeks, all that} isn't necessarily as hard. Those aren't something you need to try for, it's just a requirement. the 50 posts is harder, for everybody. I don't know a single Gifted member who got accepted on their first try, I don't know if anybody did.

I would like to know, if there is a single person reading every single post that an applicant posts?(some people have 3,000 + especially if they're on the GCT)
If so, and they have the time to do that, couldnt they use a template and paste a response?
automated, generic message or not, i think it would be nice to have a notification.

If they delagated ahuman reader, then it shouldnt be that much more time consuming to paste a response or hit a button to send a notification.
A. You have not been a member long enough
B. Posts are lacking 'filling' (non-fluff/ filling, hahah, sorry bad joke)
C. Not enough posts

I think that would help a lot of memebers and prevent any frustration instead of wondering why or what happened..
...thanks for listening and clarifying a lot

The problem with a SINGLE reader/judge is that it would be too time consuming to be able to interact with people applying. It would be a one-way street, saying, basically, either pass or fail. With a panel of people, each one taking a handful of applicants, they could more efficiently communicate back and forth with the applicants, and in turn, make the whole process more visible and progress oriented, which I would think, would only benefit the GE community as a whole.

All wonderful and informationative posts. Although, I have to tell people that I did ask Gingerly why I got rejected and she said my posts lack relevancy/content wich I'm not really that sure of what she means!

Hi!
Relevancy/content .. yeah, that's basically what the PMs usually say, anyways. I believe it means that your posts needs a little more something to them ... some value, some quality. Doesn't really matter how long it is, it should just be long enough for you to get out your opinion, from 3 sentences to 3 paragraphs.

But who judges the quality? Is it just Gingerly? Just Cows? Multiple people?

And it would seem to me that the hardest part would be to really judge "relevance" would require not just reading the applicants' posts, but the posts that they're in reply to. For multi-page threads, this would seem near-impossible.

I'm sure it's not just one person, multiple people - mods & admins, in particular - MissyK, Cows, Gingerly, fairlyoddmom ... I'm not really sure who specifically.

Well, do you know how they judge posts? Maybe they do, read the front post and a few other posts around it - we don't know how it works, but I'm sure they're doing their job

Hi there! Well, as many have said, it is 50 posts (: But, one hundred is great! Each post should be well meant, and have that extra "OOMPH!" as some would say (: Helping people out is a good way of getting those fifty posts (:

I went through the GT program, and I will give you some tips on making some of those "OOMPH!" posts!

Well, I always greeted new members with a smile, something different to each member, not copy and pasted like some people may do (:

Also, I tried not to use text speak or any form of abbreviations. For example, I would do you, instead of the all famous "u"! Also, I didn't post if I just thought something was funny, I would express how I felt about that thread in a visitor message (:

I congratulated new members on their adoptions, and asked questions in that same thread. I actually made many life long friends in those threads as well (:

There is a sticky in the WI Rules and Suggestions, that shows everything you need to know on how to make good posts (:

I hope I helped, and also, good luck getting into the GE!!!
