Default Unanswered: GIMP help

On GIMP, how do you resize an image (make it bigger)? I tried using the scale tool, but instead of resizing it to a bigger image, it makes the rest white. Anyone know how to fix this?

That is weird. It is suppose to be the scale tool. Do you have the picture?? I could resize it for you.

Is your image more than one layer? If it is that would explain why it is doing this.

Merging all the layers down so it's 1 layer and then using 'scale image' would work, as would using 'scale layer' and then 'fit canvas to layers'
