If you get accepted, you will be assigned a Gift Coach to work with and they'll teach you how to trade on WI. Everytime you complete a trade, you will get a "Giftz" Point. (Feedback point) When you complete your "training" you will become Gifted and move up to the Big GE, after that, you might become a Gift Guru.
It is called the Gift Extange or GE for short. When you have been a member for two weeks and have 50+ non fluff (good) posts, you can apply to become a GT. That is a gift trainee. Then you go to the Training section GE with a gift coach who coaches you on the GE. Then once you have been in there for about a month - your GC can move you to the big GE. In the TS you can only trade certain things. In the big GE you can trade anything. Any WW virtual items. Then you must have 50 good trades in the big GE to become a Gift Guru. When you go to the big GE you become gifted. Than you go to Guru but you stay in the same place. Then when you turn 18 and staff recomend you - you CAN become a GC. Or giftcoach. They train the GTs. You must go throuh lots of training, background checks, and be a great member and be recommended by staff to become one. I think that is it. Maybe the age or background check is different. But it is still rare to become one.
Please use full sentences or nice paragraphs when posting. Avoid abbreviations or *text speak.*
HERE ARE THE DOs......
# 1...Welcome new members with a cheery hello. Tell them to read the FAQ and where it's located.
# 2...Congratulate. Find members who got a new Webby or finally, their Crown of Wonder, or other longed-for items.
# 3...Be Helpful. Look around the Forum for people needing help.
# 4...Be Supportive....If a member has lost items in Webkinz World, is having problems logging on or with glitches, tell them you're sorry the problem has been happening to them.
# 5...Join in on conversations....Go to Genl Disc/Chat and find conversations you can contribute to.
ABOVE ALL.....Never, ever be rude to anyone. Talk to people exactly the way you would want someone to talk to you.
And here is what you SHOULD NOT:
........Posts in the following areas DO NOT count toward your 50.....
# 1...Contest Section. # 2...The Polls. # 3...Help I Need A Pet Name. # 4...Role Plays. # 5...The Rumor Mill.
# 6....Are you Game
( NOTE..Threads don't count, only posts.)
DON'T.....Copy and Paste responses.
DON'T......Make *fluff* posts.
Here are some examples of FLUFF posts.... LOL. Gee that's funny. I don't know. I agree. Lalalalalala. Hahahaha. Silly or anything off-topic.
DON'T......Make *Bump* posts.
Bumping is when you make a post just to get your thread
back to the top of the forum threads, or to keep it from closing. ....A few examples of Bumping...
Anyone want to post?
Dot Dot Duck gave you the link for the great post about making good, "non-fluff" posts. The big idea is, not all posts count towards the 50. Only significant, helpful ones do. Your post, asking the question about "non-fluff" will count, I think. Your thread-starter will not, even though there was nothing wrong with it. Threads just don't count, only posts to threads!
The application has been closed--it is from time to time, when applications have built up, and the staff either hasn't been able to review them or doesn't have Gift Coaches available if they should approve more. Don't be discouraged by this--eventually it will reopen and you will be able to apply. Till that time, you can read the WI GEV, the "blue stickies" on the trading exchanges, and spend more time in WI getting to know all the sections. Once you are accepted for trading, you may be too busy to do much of that--so take advantage of your extra time now!
Good luck to you--hope to see you in a trading room in the future! It's a lot of fun, and worth the effort and wait!
