I use FF and have been having a lot of crashes lately. Sometimes I get a crash just trying to load one of my accounts. I am not necessarily asking for a solution but just wonder if anyone has installed the latest flash player on FF and if so, have you had problems with it? The latest is 188.8.131.52. I am still on 10.3.183.1 and have the FF 7.0.1 which I believe is the most current.
I would be happy to know what flash versions seem to be working for people. I have been hesitant to update for fear I go from bad to worse.
Chrome was working pretty well for me except for the floating dock and it always has the latest Flash player. So I went ahead and updated FF to the latest. I don't know that it's any better but it certainly is not any worse than the old version I had.
Thanks for your response. I have windows XP and a different flash but that's the version of flash I have, too. It has been crashing more recently but maybe that's "too many things in my dock"
I have not been experiencing more than usual crashes. I have been experiencing perhaps more than usual trouble logging in - getting green screen rather than progressing to complete log-in. But now I've lost compatibility with Safari (literally won't accept typing in log-in box) and Camino (which up to recently was stellar.) So much for checking the updates BEFORE they're installed.
I have had that problem with Safari - wanted to use it to open an account that continued to have that green screen all the time. I finally instaled Chrome again - hate the floating dock issue but it worked.
I have Mac FF 10.7.1
with 10.3.183.1 and I"m staying here until someone ELSE does the beta testing/working out the bugs!
(and it's working well enough....)
I also have a Mac, but my FF is 7.0.1, and when I check the About Firefox panel it says that "Firefox is up to date." I am not computer savvy. How can I be three versions behind you and still be up to date?
Marnabear, I did absentmindedly allow update to the latest Flash, and it's constantly crashing. Of course it was often crashing before, but I think not quite as often. I get the least crashes on Chrome, which is the only browser that allows me to open my main account's dock, but the flying objects are driving me crazy. (I have been meaning to post pictures of one especially traumatic episode for a couple of weeks, but I haven't had the time.)
I'm also having log-in problems (blue screens), especially with Safari.
