Default Answered: E-store payments?

Does anyone know why the ganz e-store does not accept gift cards as a payment for their items?

Actually, if it's a Visa or Mastercard prepaid gift card, then the retailer where you got it makes little if any money on it, since the money goes to Visa or Mastercard to cover the charges made on the card, so Ganz would in turn get the full amount of the charge. (Hope that makes sense?)

It would be my guess that the fees charged to Ganz by Visa or Mastercard when using this form of payment are too high for them to want to accept them. The fees for debit and credit usage are different, so they just accept credit. Even if you use a debit card at the e-store, it is run as a credit card. The gift cards are often automatically run as debit, since you can't go over the amount that is on the card. I don't know this to 100% be the reason they won't take them, but that would be my guess.

It might have something to do with Ganz wanting to automatically extend your subscription. They want to be able to use your credit card to keep you 'hooked'.

Ooh, yeah, that's a good reason, too. But, weren't they NOT accepting the gift cards before they did the auto-renewal? I can definitely see how that would apply now, though. Good point.
