Thanks for that advice. I recently traded for and planted my Donut Seeds (the Collie Ossilily I've had and had to dig first..no problems ever since) and kept having problems i.e. could not take any gardening action, etc. I was however able to water one day. I have removed and returned and dug and made 'grrrrrr' sounds.

I finally saw some growth this morning but I still could not rake or do any other gardening so
I just raked and tended to my other crops.

I am happy to report I just want back to my garden and went straight to the Donut plant and was finally to rake and remove the weeds!

Things are lookin' up! Thanks again!

May I ask how you could dig a hole first? When I tried to use the shovel, it would only go to the corn plant not an open plot...Appreciate the help.

When we refer to "Dig" it is the option on the gardening menu:

Inspect
Water
Rake
Dig
Havest

Dig option is usually used when your occupied plot is overgrown w/ weeds and the only way to remove them and begin the growth cycle over again is to Dig.

However, most of us have found the only way to start the growth cycle w/ the Ossilily Plant is to place the plant in the yard and Dig - even if you receive the message "It is not recommended.....etc"

Hope this this helped.
