Default Unanswered: Does anyone else find this bothersome?

I found these ads after I logged out. Isn't this supposed to be a kids site? I went to the one with the cupcake on it and it had my face book info on it, as well as some of my friends. I thought this was a little weird.

I never click on anything, like ads ever!
I did see this and I am upset about it!
I don't like anything non-related WW, Ganz ads while I am allowng my children on their site!
I don't like it for myself either for that matter!
Not good at all!
Then it makes me more paranoid about all the info the etore recently made us update!!!!
I will be calling webkinz (1-866-932-5469) tomorrow about this!

Exactly!! It made me really uncomfortable, espically when I clicked on it and saw my full name there....very weird.
It just really bothers me because it is a kids site...I mean don't they make enough money from us buying all their kids toys?? Do they really need to advertise for someone else.
I don't like that I now have to warn my DD about outside ads on Webkinz.
I also REALLY don't like that my name was there!!! ARGH!
Not cool AT ALL Ganz!

Your child could be in a public library and click that and a stranger see the full name, not safe!
I am getting mader by the minute.
I didn't know the full extent of this, because I never click on these kinds of ads, but it's sounds worse by the nanosecond!

I was just about to post about this and decided to check first to see if anyone had already done so. I had the cupcake ad, which includes a livingsocial logo, and then an ad for U.S. Airways vacations to Las Vegas, not exactly kid friendly. I didn't click on the cupcake because I don't like to click on strange ads. I don't belong to Face Book, so I don't know what if any info might be there if I did click. Just the idea makes me uncomfortable. I never expected to see such ads on WW. I thought they were against Ganz's policy.

If the ads bother you, go to "me and my pets", click on the "my profile" tab and opt out of ads. You can opt out permanently until you change your preferences. The only thing you would lose is access to any click to win contest if they have one.

SarahAdamDaddy, that's great advice about the ads. Another way to solve the problem (which solves it not just for Webkinz but for just about anywhere) is to install an ad-blocker to your browser. For instance, I use Firefox, and the standard add-on is called AdBlock Plus. It's free and it works like a dream. I don't have to worry about my kids seeing ads anywhere now, just the sites they're allowed on.

I saw this earlier and was none to pleased about it. I had the exact thoughts about them making enough money off of their customers and why they need to do this. My children don't really go on webkinz anymore (maybe once every month or two) but it still bothers me that this is a children's website and they don't seem to care where they direct children. Between these ads, their contest on twitter and youtube it seems they aren't very child friendly. I also would be shocked to click on an ad and see my name pop up. I know you can block the ads but basically they are saying if you do they won't let you have any click prizes .
