i come into empty rooms sometimes but if i switch pets or log on/off things go back to normal..it seems to be a glitch

I hope you weren't hacked and it's just a glitch. I'm sorry this happened to you.

I once had almost all the items in a room disappear except for a new strike-a-pose plant. When I left the room and came back they came back, though.

Yes this has happen to me also , several times. Maybe if you clean your cache this some times helps. I sure hope you get it all worked out.

I am so sorry you had this happen to you.... it is so frustrating, no matter WHAT the cause is, to see your things go missing or 'get lost'....

I would suggust to you, and everyone, that you routinely change your passwords to prevent any hacking issues. In our house, we change all the passwords once a month. It's a bit of a hassle, but I'd rather take the extra time now then find a bad surprise later.

Again, I am very sorry for the hassles you are having to deal with

Have you gone through and done the standard 'Clear Cache' routine? If you call 1-866-WEB-KINZ and leave a message, they will get back to you, but that is one of the first things they will ask you to do, anyway.
I borrowed this from msclockart, his is the best explanation of how to clear your browser

  • Up top in the pull-down menus (File, Edit, etc.), click Edit, then 'Preferences'
  • Find 'Advanced'. Click the sign in front of the word, 'advanced'
  • You'll see 'Cache, Proxies, etc...'
  • Click 'Cache'
  • On the right you'll see buttons labeled 'Clear Memory Cache,' and 'Clear Disk Cache'
  • First, click 'Clear Memory Cache'. When the “?” dialog appears click 'OK'
  • Click 'Clear Disk Cache', when the “?” dialog appears, click 'OK'.
  • Click 'OK' again to close the Cache Dialog box.
  • This will clear all old info from your browser and the error should be finished.
Firefox:
  • Click Tools and select Options
  • Click the Privacy icon
  • Click Clear Now in the Private Data area
  • Click OK
  • Exit and re-launch the browser.
Clearing Cache on Safari 1.0 / Safari 2.0 for Macintosh OS X:
  • From the Safari menu click on ‘empty cache’
  • When asked if you want to empty the cache? Click on empty
  • Once that's done, from the safari menu click on "preferences"
  • From the Security dialog box, select "bookmarks"
  • Click on "Show Cookies"
  • A list will show up with all the cookies left on the computer.
  • Select "Remove all"
  • Once they are removed, Click "Done"
  • Close down Safari to get back to your desktop
  • Re-launch Safari and log back into Webkinz.

YES this happened to us also! My daughters each bought all the Christmas stuff and now they are all gone along with several other items! I tried to change their passwords and when I clicked on chane password it came up with a box that said XXXX and didn't let me change them. What can we do?

I am so sorry this is happening to some of you and hope it is just a glitch.
If you have been on recently you can try tracing outgoing mail.
I do know that if a hacker wants to get into a/an account though they can.
Dixiecup has sound advice along with some of the others, try these steps first.
I think I had better follow some of your examples and check our accounts.
