Recently I had a problem adopting a free trading card pet. In their email to me, it asked me for my username, secret code , date of birth, etc. I assumed secret code meant password. I did email them back with it but when they finally called me - they only asked me for my username and said they did not need my password. Now my situation was different, they just gave me a new adoption code. They might need your password to go onto your account to fix your problem. Anyways, to answer your question - yes I did email them my password but I was leery of doing so also.
