My son and daughter and I all have gold accounts. We do not have the family gold membership. We regularly visit each others homes to play games, etc. We have done this in the gold most times as this is the default for us. I think the issue may be an ISP (Internet Service Provider) issue rather than a Ganz one at this point. If someone has an ISP that does not respond quickly or times out, it may default to a message like you have been getting. Anyway, those are my thoughts but without the IP addresses of the two parties I cannot be certain.
