Default Re: Concerns about people requesting to be added to friends list

Super helpful thread!

Thanks everyone for clearing up the 'Friends' mystery!

I've been receiving odd requests for friends, too, lately, and began to wonder if it was a security issue with my computer, or something.

Everything that everyone has posted here makes a lot of sense, though, so now I know it's no big deal.

I don't think it's anything to be overly concerned about. If you get invites from folks you don't know. Just say "No" to the invite. If they keep sending them, then you can always choose "block". And, you can take the Username in WW and search for it here, perhaps you were both on the same thread or have friends in common. Either way, unless it becomes abusive, I don't this one has to freak here. Personal Info is pretty protected in WW, and there are ways to report individuals who are "not playing nice".
Good Luck

The source of the problems is mostly MyPage, where anyone can view your page by clicking browse, which takes them to a random page. You can remove the friends for her friends list and take away her ability to add friends or recieve friends requests on MyPage.

I set my preference to My Friends and never had a problem before but here's how to do it both ways:
