My daughter got sick on her white persian cat...ewwwwww. I figured it was ruined anyway so I just threw it in the washing machine with other whites, cold water and set the cycle for about 12 minutes.
It was fine, and white again. I would make sure there is no velcro or hooks on anything.

My daughter got marker all over her yellow lab. It says spot clean on the tag, but I figured I had nothing to lose so I used some carpet cleaner and it came right out. Then it just took some time to get rid of the smell or you can put it in a pillow case in the dryer with a softener sheet.

I'm glad to have read, on this thread, that the persian cat survived the washing machine!

I always hand wash my WEBKINZ, in the sink--never let them get too wet--esp. the paws, which tend to absorb water.

When I hand-wash I use woolite, and gently shampoo "the fur". Then I blot dry with a towel or two.
Next, I put the WEBBIE in a lingerie bag, and into the dryer, on gentle, for about two minutes.
And finally, I fluff with a blowdryer--holding the dryer a good 12 inches from the pet.

It's kind of a long process, but the pet comes out looking great.

But again--if that persian cat got a great bath in the washing machine, I say go for it! Why not go the easy route??

Good luck!

Just goto the WShop, and buy a tub, a nice one, and click your pet then click the tub, when the screen loads up, have fun washing your pet. Keep adding bubbles until it says Ooops whered you go! Wash his or her head, and dry. They will be cleaner and happier, and will love you tons! Oh yeah, for real, just put them into a pillow case and wash them in the washer cold water, they will still be soft and fluffy like new, but I don't think that throwing them in a pillow case and in a washing machine with high spin dry will make them much HAPPIER......
