Default Re: Are Christmas Ornaments Worth Buying

I planned which ones to buy so that everyone would get the base, topper, lights that they would like and sometimes had a hard time getting the ones I wanted. I wound up spending way too much money by the time we all got the ones we wanted.

I'm disappointed because: 1) I had to spend a lot of money for a tree only slightly larger than the one for sale in the w shop, sure mine has ornaments but it's no big thrill, 2) If I were to buy the ornaments that I actually thought were cute they didn't come with items we wanted - so I bought based on the items that came with them.

I really wish they came like clothing or beauty products and you could select what virtual item you want when you enter the code. It would've saved me a lot of money and I could've actually made the kids happy with ornaments that fit their personality.

Also, keep in mind that only a few things are animated and most other things are small and not too exciting.

So, yes, I guess I'm a little disappointed.

Here's a picture of my tree next to the w shop tree. OK, so I guess it's a bit more that "slightly" bigger than the w shop tree, but I still wish it were big enough at least to see the ornaments better.

If you have only one Webkinz account, buy just 3 ornaments as long as you buy the right 3. Check out the book on thiis site and the person also has a spread sheet which says what comes with each ornament. Be sure you get one with a topper, one with a garland, and one with a base. No use buying more than 3 ornaments unless you are going to change your tree often.

I bought all 24. What I did was put one in each day of our advent calendar for my sons. Each day, they take out one ornament and put it on a special tree we have just for them. Then we put in the code. We agreed that we would put it on my account so that we'll get the fireplace. My younger son loves changing the decorations everyday and my older one races downstairs in the morning for the newest ornament to put on the tree and enter online! It's been wonderful for us. I was able to get them 1/2 off because of coupons I had for Limited Too. I always think it's funny when I shop there since I have no daughters!

i think they are worth buying because they have a real purpose except for the codes. the regular figurines just sit there, but the ornaments you can use!

Hi! I'm the one who wrote the Tree Ornament Guide, so obviously I will give it a thumbs up! In fact, I wrote the guide because I was so enthusiastic about the various features that I got with just a few ornaments. I thought that it was great value. You can get a fully decorated tree by purchasing 3 ornaments. However, they can't be just any 3 ornaments! They have to be chosen carefully, hence the guide. Just click on "Tree Guide" in my siggie.

The tree is the only item that goes into your dock; all the virtual ornaments go directly into your decorating workstation. Just walk up to the tree and "bump" into it, or click on it while in walk mode. The work station will open. Loading can take a little while depending on your connection. With two ornaments, you should have 6 items in your workstation, either topper, garland, base or virtual ornaments.

I haven't heard of anyone else having malfunctions with this particular program. If it still doesn't work, please post here or on my Tree Guide thread (link in my siggie).

I waited until my store was having a buy one get one plus 30% off before getting my set. Made it a whole lot cheaper that way!

You can look at it two ways.
1. If you collect all 24 you will get the fireplace, which I think looks cool.
2. I purchased all but one. I am having trouble locating the Reindeer. I purchased a small 2 foot tree and put it on coffee table. Add some color lights to it and put all the ornaments on it.
If you have kids or you are a kid/kid a heart I think it is worth buying them. I would just watch the cost. I was able to get all but five for only $2.50 to $2.75. One of our stores had everything marked down to 40% last weekend.
I'm trying to get 40 figures for the Forest and need about 14 which I will get tomorrow at once again a sell for 50% off. I'm hoping they will be under $2 each.
