Default Answered: Washing Webkinz

Hello!

I was just wondering, what would happen to my Signature Marble Cat if I washed her? She got kind of dirty when I was taking pictures of her today, and I was just wondering what would happen to her after getting wet and going through a dryer. I love her fur and I don't want it to end up all scratchy and tangly like my poor Mohawk Puppy's mohawk did. Can someone tell me what will happen if I wash her in a sink, and dry her in a dryer? Thanks!

If you are talking about buying a pet with points in the Wshop inside WW, then you will go straight to the adoption with no code involved. If you mean the estore, outside of WW, then as Feona said you will get a code to use whenever you like.

I've never washed my Webkinz. I've LIGHTLY steamed some of them (depending on their fur type) or I brush them out with a heavy duty brush.

I use a brush similar to this on my Signature Portuguese Water Dog and my Squishable and htey come out super soft! I usually do it every so often though.

Never put your Webkinz in a dryer or washer. When you have long haired fur gently hand wash it with cold water in a sick using a little shampoo. Once the shampoo is rinsed out, take the Webkinz out of the sink and towel it so it is not completely saturated with water. Then blow dry it from afar.

I wouldn't recommend using the washer may be a very light rinse and some scrubbing in the sink and probably best results would come from using a small handheld hairdryer if you have one and fluff with soft brush afterward

I know a friend at church she puts the webkinz in the washer but she puts them in bag for sock or stockings to wash so it doesn't get ruin.

Well the real way to wash any webkinz is used a wet washcloth and then a towel to dry the webkinz.

I have put pretty much all types of stuffed animals in the washer, and then the dryer. That being said, not all of them come out as cute as when they went in. To me, the cleanliness was more important than the cuteness! But anyway... The older pets with the baldish "hairs" will come out looking great. Plushes with soft velvety fur might not do as well. If you decide to use the washer and dryer, use the gentle cycle and the coolest temperature for both machines.

if you decide to use the washing machine I think it would be a good idea to put the pet into a pillow case and pin it in snuggely or roll up the case snuggely and pin. this will prevent it from being rubbed against other laundry and not mess up the hair/fur.

i guess the pet and pillow case still on can be put in the dryer until almost dry. I wouldnt over dry it.

good luck

The washer you might get away with, depending on what type you have, but no dryer. (Surface washing with a damp cloth is probably preferable). Put it in a warm place to dry it faster, but let it air dry. Dryers are horrible for causing the loss of "fluffiness". Also, the heat could loosen eyes, etc, if they are glued on.
