I have brought many of my webkinz from ebay and never had a problem, I even just purchased the code tags, as some sellers donate the plushes to local charities, I seem to be running out of room will all my webbies. If I really love the way the plush looks I now hawe decide to get those, otherwise, if they are ok and I like the virtual pet look, then I just purchase the code tags. This keeps up I will have to add a addtion to my house just for them.
When looking at the provided pictures look them over carefully. If they don't even have pictures, that's a red flag already, so don't buy from them. If you also can tell that the pictures they have are "default pictures" (the pictures everyone uses), it doesn't really show the real condition of the pet. If the pictures are taken from an "at home camera" that's great. It shows you the condition of the pet, tag, etc. Look closely and see if the tag is still attached to the pet and sealed. The more pictures the better! Hope I helped.
