Re: Bumping.
bump is usually a way just to push or bump the post up higher in the listing. they do this so it can be on a higher page and show it as having a more active conversation going. i hope that makes sense.

Re: Bumping.
Its so they can make sure the thread wont close.

Re: Bumping.
It means Bump Up My Post. People do that so that way their thread is at the beginning of the section and so people can find it easier.

Re: Bumping.
Since most people view the forums sorted by "Last Post", adding a new "bump" post changes the "Last Post" of a thread, thereby moving it up to the top of the sorted pile.

Re: Bumping.
It means Bring Up My Post or Bump Up My Post. It's only allowed in the GE.

Re: Bumping.
The reason that it is allowed inthe GE is so that people can get their threads moving after along period of inactivity,
BUMP does mean Bring Up My Post
What it does is activates the thread and puts it back into first position in the forum so that people see it again, but it is NOT allowed because it causes other threads of EQUAL importance to be overlooked.
If you are looking for help and someone bumps a thread that has been solved but not closed, that person doesn't get their question answered. ALSO, BUMP thread does not get recognized as a 'helpful post' when you are applying to the GE.
