| | Unanswered: ATTN Justin: WI Typing Glitch. Blue Box covering text input
This issue was raised before in the following thread, which is now closed: http://www.webkinzinsider.com/forum/.../#post15369218
There are pictures in that thread too.
I'm on an older computer right now while mine is in the shop and I finally experienced this glitch.
Justin: I'm on a Mac Powerbook G4 running Tiger and Firefox 3.5.1
I had no problem with this on my Intel Mac (which is in the shop this week )
This will prevent the box from appearing while entering text.
- Go to the USER CP menu.
- Choose "Edit Options"
- Scroll to the bottom to "Miscellaneous Options"
- Change the "Message Editor Interface" from "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing" to one of the other two options (Basic Editor or Standard Editor)
- Remember to save your changes.
On my current computer, where the glitch is appearing, when "Enhanced Interface" is enabled, the text that I type in the text box looks almost identical to the way it will in Preview. Fonts display in color (if I add color) or bold (if I make them bold.) I don't have to click "Preview Post" to see how those things will look because they already look that way in the box where I'm entering the text.
In Basic Editor and Standard Editor, I only see text (and BB Code) in the entry box, and I won't see any formatting (color, bold etc) unless I click "Preview Post". On my Intel Mac, even though I have "Enhanced Interface" selected, I also only see unformatted text in the entry box.
The problem appears to be linked to the text entry box displaying formatted text (in "Enhanced Interface" mode). It looks like this problem may have started after a specific WI update. There's more information (dates etc) in the original thread that I linked to above.
Again, for anyone else having this problem, see the "workaround" I posted a few paragraphs up.
