I'm in the process of trying to get into the GE too! some suggestions would be to make good, sometimes longer posts, rather than short replys, also it says for the requirements that you need to post in different areas of the forum, such as the general disscussion area, answering questions, and welcoming new members.
It might be kind of hard to be a GT if you don't get on WI much....it takes a lot of training and dedication and ability to maintain a trade thread and respond to offers....you need time here to do all that.
As Jennielou said, training involves quite a bit of time and work. I would say that you need to check in to WI at least once a day, more would be ideal. After you graduate from training, it becomes easier, because you aren't required to even have a thread open, and you can come and go trading as you wish. There isn't a certain amount of time/number of trades you must have under your belt before you graduate, but training generally takes about a month. It's something big to think about.
Even if you don't decide to join the GE, you can definitely still enter contests in the 'Member Contests for Food' section; there are usually some nice PSFs as prizes.
As the above stated... it takes a lot of work and dedication... A lot more than what you think. You also need to be able to log on during holidays, WW fests, or weekends during training.
It would be worth it for you if you can handle daily visits to the training section.
Each day you log in, pick one new qualifying topic and look at the threads there.
Contribute with a helpful opinion or a new idea (or add to a new posted idea), or relate a past experience you know about and the outcome, whether good or bad. Hints and tips are always good. Try to post as many helpful posts as you can.
2 good posts a day = 25 days of posting.
3 good posts a day = 17 days of posting.
4 good posts a day = 13 days of posting.
5 good posts a day = 10 days of posting.
With my limited experience with WI and WW, I figured I was only able to make 2 to 3 good posts a day.
This is also a good way to find out which topics you truly enjoy visiting, and in which ones
you can be helpful.
