Ganz could at least post a notice that free rooms are placed randomly. I was frustrated by the clustering of bedrooms and didn't want to walk through one to get to another. After I got several pets registered, I created "wings" in the house with the central room becoming a playroom or kitchen. Then the bedrooms around them would open into the central area. Then I bought tall furniture and and placed them in a way to make sure to block both sides of a door when bedrooms were next to each other. That prevents a pet from accidentally walking from one room into a room that is blocked on the other side. I have one series of rooms going straight across the house and the wings are clusters branching off the main row. Thank goodness for powerpoint. I occasionally take a screen print of the map layout so I know what is where.

It is very irritating that you can't choose your room location, but you can kind of "guess" a lot of the time. They place the rooms so that you home is "balanced," so to say. I agree with CrystalFlute - hang on to any special wallpaper or flooring until you are past your 10 pets and can choose where you place your rooms.

Also, you may not be able to change your room LOCATION, but you can always switch your room types around. That's what I would do. My first room has always been a living room, but the rooms surrounding it changed from bedroom to bathroom to closet, etc. Have fun with your new adoptions!

All my free rooms are completely empty untill I can find a use for them, they just sit around gathering dust, medium rooms aren't always very useful...

I'm pretty sure there is a pattern, I think it goes to, right, bottom, left of your current house, but that's not confirmed

It goes somewhere random, you can't choose it. But if you buy a room, you can choose where that goes.

I only adopted 1 pet for my farm, then I bought all my fields and put them where I wanted them, so I could go from field to field. I set up what I wanted before I adopted more into that account. There should be some warning one 1st accounts. I am sure if you asked anyone they would do it all different if they would have know and if they would have had a choice. but when you get lemons make lemonade, some of my cutest rooms came out of random placements. good luck.

There really is not a order, but they try to balence out your house. Everytime I get a pet with the room it places it where there is a spot between a room. Hope this helped you out.

That is a VERY good idea.....taking a screen shot to see whats where.......and even what you want to do. Maybe taking one when the buy a room screen is up. Thanks for the tip!:kanga:

I agree with what is said above. I don't like the idea that the room goes anywhere randomly, because if you want a small or large room in a certain spot for adding on to a theme (like a school), then you have to deal with it. They said a while back that there would be new things that we would enjoy about our rooms, but so far they've only added being able to name your room certain things, which a lot of people (including me) don't like. It seems like they want to add entertainment before fixing our problems.

unfortunately they location of the first 10 medium adoption rooms are totally random and I agree with others to hold off on decorating large rooms once you're done with the initial 10 pet adoptions so you don't have to worry about a random room in between rooms you wanted connected over time...I had this happen to me when I adopted pets and chose to wait to add large rooms connected to each other for collecting items or themes...hope this helps
